It would be nice...
for them to add that scrolls give double faction in Luxon and Kurzick side of things. For those that don't HFFF on the Kurzick side of things it would be a nice bonus.
In the long run, they should put in some sort of mechanic to gaining faction much like in gaining reputation points for killing in EotN. It may actually spur some people back into more parts of Factions instead of just Lutfactiondis.

But you know what...if they started doing the big events every weekend, they'll be common place and they'll lose their appeal. You can play the game without having a weekend bonus to give you MOAR LEWT right?
You said in later posts that you'd prefer to see fewer larger events. But there are already fewer "larger" events. These little ones are there to fill in the gaps in gameplay that they recognize. Vanquishing may have had a huge fall-off so they're trying to get newer players to experience something else, or get experienced bored players an incentive to go out and vanquish. You say that it's a wasted event. But it's better than nothing. If it doesn't appeal to you, consider it a non-event weekend. Just like PvP weekends for people like me.
I don't see vanquishing as a grind. I used to "vanquish" in normal mode just for fun and loot when I was new. I used to vanquish in NM cantha for faction points to continue the story...rather than repeat the same old run the supplies quest or faction farm. THAT is grind...not running around killing stuff.

You mean, kinda like they have now where you go outside, pay 100g to the guy and you get faction for your kills? This exists in Factions, I believe starting with a certain town and on.

Yeah, like in factions. I know this. Also the cap on killing a boss in HM is 250. In EotN it is 900. That is a BIG difference. Oh and don't forget the boss bounties and upto rank 4 on number of points of kills and and and... I did say originally to add DOUBLE FACTION for kills.

Well this weekend will be nice for vanquishing. Yeah the reward is hardly a HUGE increase, but it's better than the normal amount.

lol at the QQ...
Anyway, for those (mere mortals) still working on the legendary vanq title this is a nice event.
And, what the QQers seem to forget is that Vanq is done in HM... that means monsters drop stuff like golds, and chests spawn elite tomes, and chests spawn elite tomes... (crap said that already) and you also pick up other random stuff that you can salvage into crafting materials for your cons.

OMG so true, I ran this setup all w/e, finished 12/33 vanq's in Cantha, 7/13 missions for protector and guardian, and mapped about 40%! I feel a little dirty, but what a timesaver!

No need for UB when vanqing.. its much more fun to do it the "normal" way. We did use a N/Rt healer but the rest of the heroes were pretty much set up different (we tried to keep it all necro though, me and my friend) seeing we did "Lame" the other two continents pretty much.
We managed to get our Legendary Vanquisher this weekend and we were pleased =)

UB is fail when you can just run 4 physicals, an MM, AP MoP/Barbs Bomber, and 2 healers. Physicals > most of this game.

Deleted my perma sin and refuse to go in DoA because of sheer boredom.

Leavers and bad players have pretty much ruined the DoA experience for me. It is extremely difficult to find a HM PUG and, if you do, players leave in the middle of the run or are just plain stupid with over aggro etc. I think the biggest problem is, except for the odd 600/smite/famine teams there are no non-ursan groups to join. This might well change after the update though.
Lets hope

had a good time doing some easy elona vanquishing with 5 players (hubby likes to see how quickly we can die)....but was kinda fun, and got more ss points without having to do wurms....nice change of pace for me.

Vanquished 11 zones in Cantha and I am now motivated to continue vanquishing. I liked the week-end.

I had a great time vanquishing. Got the whole of the Crystal desert done as well as perdition rock, the sage lands, spearhead peak, snake dance, Gandara and the sunward marches.
No cons (I did buy some, but never actually got around to using them) and no ursan, H/Hed it all. Twas fun fun.
